CNR 2014: Competitions: Tour the Stairs: The service robotics competition 2014: Point Scoring Systems
The robot will archive 1 technical points for each step it takes up the stairs. Ex. if it reach 7 steps up the stairs it will get 7 points. If it If it should fall down the stairs, it will be last step that counts. Ex. if it has reached 7 steps but falls down to the third step, it will get 3 points.
It is the total sum of technical points that counts in the End. Ex. if a robot has received 7 points in the first round, 8 in the second round and 5 in the thrid round of the competition it will get 7 + 8 + 5 = 20 points.
Design ranking system
A Jury of minimum three judges will announce after they have watch all the robots perform one time in the competition, which robot they will judge to be ranked 1,2,3, etc in the Design ranking system.
They will judge on these parameters:
- The visual design of the robot
- The interface design of the robot
- The embodied design of the robot
- The interaction design of the robot
- The overall impression of the robot (Is it a robot that they can see be working as a service robot in the future)

The 28-29 November the first edition of Tour the Stairs Competition will take place during the Cafe Neu Romance festival (26-29 November 2014) at Galerie NTK.
